Education Was Provided to High School Students Within the Scope of the "İşimdeyim Güvendeyim" Project at MAKÜ

The seminar meetings of the “İşimdeyim Güvendeyim” Project, supported within the scope of the Grant Component of the “Improvement of Occupational Health and Safety in the Mining Sector Project (MİSGEP)” financed by the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the T.C. Ministry of Labor and Social Security European Union and Financial Assistance Department, continue.

Within the scope of the “İşimdeyim Güvendeyim” Project, carried out in partnership with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), Isparta Süleyman Demirel University (SDÜ), Isparta Süleyman Demirel Organized Industrial Zone, Burdur Organized Industrial Zone, Burdur Provincial Organized Industrial Zone, and Bucak Organized Industrial Zone, approximately 75 students from Bucak Organized Industrial Zone Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School were trained on “Ensuring Behavioral Culture in Occupational Health and Safety: Education of Children and Young People” by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar.

In addition to Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar, Bucak Organized Industrial Zone Manager Binnur Çığrı, Burdur Marble Workers Association President Nasuh Ekinci, academicians, high school teachers, and students attended the training held at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel.

In the trainings given on topics such as how safe I am at home, at school, in the environment I live in, what a safe workplace should be like, dangerous professions, what dangers await workers in workplaces, what should be done to protect from dangers, what kind of measures you would take if you were an employer, students shared their feelings and thoughts in writing and verbally.

The training ended with the presentation of a plaque to Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar by Bucak Organized Industrial Zone Manager Binnur Çığrı.

After the trainings, the students toured the Engineering-Architecture Faculty, Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Library, İstiklal Stadium, MAKÜ Sports Facilities, and MAKÜ Farm located within the campus and obtained information.
