The MAKU Faculty of Education Unit Quality Commission; has been determined as follows within the scope of the "Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Quality Directive, Fourth Section, Formation, Working Principles and Duties of the Unit Quality Commission" implemented with the senate decision dated 18/12/2018 and numbered 340/24:
Formation of the Unit Quality Commission
ARTICLE 9- (1) The Unit Quality Commission consists of at least three members to be determined by the unit council in academic units and by the unit manager in administrative units.
(2) The appointed members select the Unit Quality Officer among themselves within a week at the latest from the date of appointment. The Unit Quality Officer is the chairman of the Unit Quality Commission.
(3) The term of office of the members is three years. The member whose term of office has ended can be reappointed by the unit council/manager. If there is any decrease in the number of commission members for any reason, an appointment is made for the missing member within a month.
(4) In academic units, at least one administrative staff responsible for administrative processes is included in the commission.
(5) In units with students, at least one student is included in the commission.
Working Principles and Procedures of the Unit Quality Commission
ARTICLE 10- (1) The Unit Quality Commission works in accordance with the following principles and procedures:
a) The Unit Quality Commission meets at least twice in each academic year under the chairmanship of the Unit Quality Officer and upon his/her call.
b) The meeting agenda, date and place are determined by the commission chairman and announced to the members.
c) The Unit Quality Commission convenes with the absolute majority of the total number of members and decisions are made with the absolute majority of those attending the meeting. In case of equality of votes, it is considered that a decision has been made in accordance with the vote of the commission chairman.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Faculty Quality Commission
(1) To establish the internal and external quality assurance system of the institution related to the evaluation and improvement of the quality of its educational, teaching and research activities and administrative services in line with the strategic plan and objectives of the faculty, to determine institutional indicators and to carry out the studies to be carried out in this context in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by the Higher Education Quality Board, and to submit these studies to the approval of the faculty management,
(2) To carry out internal evaluation studies and prepare the annual institutional evaluation report containing the results of institutional evaluation and quality improvement studies and present it to the senate, to announce the approved annual institutional evaluation report to the public on the University's website,
(3) To make the necessary preparations in the external evaluation process, to provide all kinds of support to the Higher Education Quality Board and external evaluator institutions,
(4) To create and implement its own annual internal evaluation report, work calendar for the next calendar year, improvement action plans by taking into account the results of periodic review, until the beginning of the next calendar year, on a yearly basis,
(5) To report the data coming from the departments to ensure the standard at the faculty level in its studies and reports,
(6) To carry out improvement studies related to the areas that emerge in internal and external evaluation reports and need improvement.
Duties of Quality Sub-Commissions
(1) Duties of the Education and Teaching Quality Sub-Commission;
a) To follow the practices related to education-teaching activities in the academic units of the faculty and monitor the results of the application,
b)To participate in internal evaluation, environmental evaluation and institutional evaluation studies in the field of education-teaching under the guidance of the Faculty Quality Commission,
c) To carry out evaluation studies related to the educational objectives and gains of the programs,
ç) To carry out student-centered learning, teaching and evaluation studies,
d) To carry out studies related to the processes of student admission and development, recognition and certification,
e) To carry out studies related to the competence of the education-teaching staff for the effective conduct of the education-teaching process of the faculty and reaching the objectives of education-teaching,
f) To investigate the adequacy and suitability of the learning environment that will increase the education-teaching activity of the faculty (Classroom, computer laboratory, library, meeting room, workshop, clinic, laboratory, practice areas, exhibition areas, individual study area, etc.),
g) To review and evaluate the programs every year with the participation of internal stakeholders (Students and employees) and external stakeholders (Employers, business world, representatives of professional organizations, graduates, etc.) and to make plans for updates or improvements,
ğ) To ensure the determination of measurable objectives related to education-teaching in academic units, the determination of performance indicators related to these objectives and their periodic review,
h) To carry out studies related to the quality and performance of students, especially student participation and satisfaction, education and teaching processes, course programs and loads, effectiveness of education teaching programs,
i) To carry out improvement studies related to the areas that emerge in internal and external evaluation reports and need improvement in relation to education-teaching.
(2) Duties of the Research and Development Quality Sub-Commission;
a) To carry out studies related to the research strategies, objectives of the faculty and ways to reach these objectives,
b) To carry out studies on the determination, use and sustainability of research resources in line with the physical and technical infrastructure of the faculty,
c) To carry out studies on the competence, development and sustainability of the research staff of the faculty,
ç) To carry out studies aimed at monitoring and improving the research performance of the faculty,
d) To carry out studies aimed at encouraging research and development activities that can produce value and be converted into social benefit,
e) To measure, evaluate and publish research and development activities based on data and periodically,
f) To carry out improvement studies related to the areas that emerge in internal and external evaluation reports and need improvement in relation to research-development.
(3) Duties of the Management System Quality Sub-Commission;
a) To carry out studies related to the faculty risk assessment and internal control system,
b) To carry out studies on governance and organizational processes and activities in line with the faculty's efforts to reach its mission and objectives,
c) To carry out evaluation studies related to the structuring of the management and administrative units of the faculty,
ç) To carry out evaluation studies related to the faculty's human resources and human resources management,
d) To carry out studies related to the effective, economical and efficient use of the faculty's financial resources and movable and immovable resources for education, teaching and research activities and administrative services,
e) To carry out studies related to the participation and satisfaction of administrative staff in institutional studies,
f) To carry out studies to determine the characteristics of the institutional quality assurance system within the scope of management effectiveness and accountability, to measure its efficiency and to improve it,
g) To design the faculty's internal and external stakeholder information processes,
h) To carry out improvement studies related to the areas that emerge in internal and external evaluation reports and need improvement in relation to the management system.
